ISLAMABAD, May 25 (APP): The government will empower poor fishermen by providing loans at subsidized rates under the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan program, which will strengthen entrepreneurship among fishermen and contribute to the economy national.
“In this program, a significant number of fishermen will benefit from it and will be able to become owners rather than working with bad wages,” said a press release issued by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs (MoMA).
In this scheme, all modern facilities will be introduced to the area. This will lead to an improvement in the quality of fish and fishery products for export.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Bank of Pakistan, Alfalah Bank, Habib Bank of Pakistan and Punjab Bank for the financing of fishermen under the Kamyab Jawan program.
According to the ministry, this program will result in improved fish quality – leading to increased exports.
From this program, the fishing industry will benefit from the purchase / construction of mechanized boats and the mechanization of boat engines in the country.
The ministry has also launched an awareness initiative for the fishing community along the coastal belt (Gadani, Kund Malir, Sar Bandar Gwadar) to explain and educate them on the main features of the Kamyab youth entrepreneurship program. Prime Minister’s Jawan.
